This Privacy Notice explains how Stackt Technologies Limited, referred to as Stackt, we or us, processes personal data when you visit stackttek.com, join our early access waitlist, contact us, or use a Stackt product that refers to this Notice. We apply the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable guidance of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
1. Who controls your data
Stackt Technologies Limited determines the purposes and means of the processing described in this Notice and acts as the data controller for that processing. Privacy questions and data rights requests can be sent through our Contact page.
2. Data we collect now
- Waitlist and contact data: information you choose to submit through the Stackt early access experience or when you contact us, such as your name, email address, phone number and message.
- Website technical data: technical information generated by hosting and security infrastructure, such as IP address, browser information, request logs and security events.
- Feedback: survey responses, product comments and other feedback you choose to provide.
3. Data used by the current Stackt PWA
The current Stackt PWA is designed to work primarily on your device. Information you enter into the PWA is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a Stackt user account or Stackt cloud database. This can include your name, email address, phone number, optional profile photograph, current money balance, recurring expenses and commitments, savings amounts and goals, debts, spending and money-in records, due dates, notes, preferences, theme choice and a four-digit passcode.
Because this information is stored locally, Stackt does not ordinarily receive the contents of that locally stored PWA data. If you clear the browser storage, reset the PWA, lose the device or move to another device without exporting and importing a backup, the locally stored information may be lost.
4. Why we process personal data
| Purpose | Typical lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Provide the website, waitlist and services you request | Steps taken at your request, contract where applicable, or legitimate interests where appropriate |
| Respond to enquiries and privacy requests | Legitimate interests, contract or legal obligation, depending on the request |
| Protect the website and service from misuse and security threats | Legitimate interests and legal obligation where applicable |
| Send optional launch or marketing communications | Consent where required |
| Use optional analytics or other non essential tracking | Consent where required |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Early access waitlist
< Stackt’s website waitlist is hosted on stackttek.com. Survey answers and, where you choose launch notification, your email address are submitted to Stackt’s Cloudflare-hosted backend and stored in Stackt’s waitlist database.6. Financial information and Safe to Spend
The current PWA does not connect to your bank account. Safe to Spend and related outputs are calculated on your device from the balances, commitments, savings, debts, spending and other information you enter and the choices you make in Stackt. Stackt does not independently verify those figures. Stackt does not sell user-entered financial information.
The PWA passcode is an on-device convenience intended to reduce casual access to the app. It is not encryption of the information stored in your browser and should not be treated as equivalent to a bank-grade account security credential.
7. Service providers, browser features and disclosures
< Stackt’s website waitlist is hosted on stackttek.com. Survey answers and, where you choose launch notification, your email address are submitted to Stackt’s Cloudflare-hosted backend and stored in Stackt’s waitlist database. If you choose the PWA's voice-input feature, speech recognition is provided by the speech-recognition capability available in your browser or device. Depending on the browser or operating system, voice input may be processed by that browser, device provider or its service. Stackt does not operate that speech-recognition service. You can use typed input instead.
We may disclose information where required by law, to establish or defend legal rights, or where reasonably necessary to protect users or the security of the service. If Stackt later introduces cloud accounts, analytics, bank connections or additional production providers, this Notice will be updated before those new data flows are relied upon.
8. International transfers
Technology providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where Stackt transfers personal data internationally, we will use a lawful transfer basis and safeguards required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act and applicable regulatory guidance.
9. Retention
Waitlist, contact and other information that Stackt actually receives is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, security or dispute-resolution needs. PWA information stored only in your browser remains there until you delete it, reset the PWA, clear browser storage or otherwise remove it. Stackt cannot remotely recover locally stored PWA data that it does not hold.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information Stackt actually controls. The PWA's local-storage model limits routine transmission of your financial entries to Stackt, but information stored in a browser can still be exposed through access to your device, browser profile or exported backup. Protect your device and do not share your passcode. No technical system can guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach involving data controlled by Stackt occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, the Nigeria Data Protection Act provides rights including information about processing, access, correction, objection, restriction, portability, erasure, withdrawal of consent where consent is used, and rights relating to qualifying automated decision making. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Use our Data Rights page to make a request.
12. Children
Stackt is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly invite children to use the current PWA or join the early access waitlist. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Stackt, please contact us.
13. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Notice as the product, providers or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and give appropriate notice of material changes where required.
